For most of my adult life, I’ve lived and worked overseas, from the Himalayas in Nepal through to Andalucia in sunny Spain. Wherever we have ended up, we have always tried to make it our home, to be part of the local community and to contribute as best we can. We have always relied on the knowledge of locals to help us get set up, find out where the best shops are, what activities there are for kids, where to get the car fixed etc etc. Its fun finding out new things, discovering new places but it can also be hard work when you don’t know where to look. Thats where Peninsula Now comes in.

When we finally moved back to the UK in the summer of 2021, we simply couldn’t believe our luck when we landed on this magical little peninsula . Once again the excitement of discovering all the little secrets and gems that this place has to offer begun.  Therefore I wanted to create an all in one resource of everything thats going on in and around the Shotley Peninsula. Whether you’re one of the many great restaurants or pubs based here, you offer a dog walking and sitting service, you run a cycle group for kids or you hold an annual food and drink event, we want you listed on Peninsula Now.
